The Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation is administered by the Bishop of the Diocese. At Our Lady of Sorrows the sacrament is offered to Sophomores in High School, and is a two year course that begins during the student's Freshman year. Requirements include: a desire to be confirmed, a report on the Saint selected for the student, a retreat, a letter addressed to the Bishop requesting reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation, Weekly Mass attendance and on Holy Days of Obligation, CCD sessions, and overall fidelity to and consistency in the preparation process.  A lack of attention, engagement, or presence in confirmation activities will be discerned as signs of a desire to not be confirmed.
